'It was hard to sleep' - Antony opens up about the aftermath of Manchester United pounding for Liverpool
Manchester United striker Antony has admitted it was hard to sleep after his team were humiliated by Liverpool.
The former Ajax man started at Anfield last Sunday as United suffered their heaviest defeat in their history before beating Real Betis 4-1 in the Europa League on Thursday night.
The victory came after a week in which the media and pundits criticized Erik ten Hag's side for how they fell apart in the second half against Liverpool, conceding six goals.
The United forward spoke after scoring in the win over Betis at Old Trafford. Anthony said: "We suffered an extremely painful defeat and it was difficult to sleep that day. But in football you can't mourn the past. We know that this result is never acceptable.

Departure of the day without moderator or studio guests
The Gary Lineker saga has taken a new turn and the question of who will host tomorrow's show has been answered. No one.
The BBC has confirmed that Saturday's match of the day will take place without a presenter or experts.
A BBC spokesman said: "Some of our experts have said they do not wish to appear on the show while we try to resolve the situation with Gary.
"We understand their position and have decided that the show will focus on in-game action with no studio presentations or experts."
Obviously nobody imagined the seemingly uncomfortable task of putting themselves in his shoes!

Liverpool and Porto escape punishment after UEFA Youth League brawl
Liverpool and Porto escaped further sanctions from European football's governing body after their UEFA Youth League game ended in a mass brawl.
Young Reds reached the quarter-finals of the competition after Umare Cande missed a sudden-death penalty in a nerve-wracking penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw at Liverpool's Youth Academy in Kirkby.
The home team's jubilant scenes quickly turned ugly when a brawl broke out involving almost every player on the field.
Cande and his Porto team-mate Gonçalo Ribeiro saw red cards, while Liverpool's Lewis Koumas was also sent off towards the end of the game amid chaotic scenes.
Both sides feared further sanctions from UEFA, but a report is outfootball insiderstates that it appears that no further action will be taken in relation to the incident.
However, Koumas will serve a one-game ban which will see him eliminated in Tuesday's quarterfinals against Sporting Lisbon.
Barry Lewtas' side received five yellow cards against Porto, meaning UEFA could still penalize the Reds for 'improper behaviour'.

Internacional are "approaching" Roberto Firmino - the report reads
The race to land Roberto Firmino on a free transfer at the end of the season has begun and a club from his homeland have seemingly thrown their hat in the ring.
UOLreports that Brazilian club Internacional have approached Liverpool and are "collecting information with a view to eventually starting negotiations".
But the same report showered cold water on his hopes for the number 9 as Firmino has "other plans" when he leaves the Reds.
Journalist Bruno Andrade says that Firmino is highly regarded in Europe and particularly in England and Germany. But he is also happy about offers from Spain, France and Italy.
But another Brazilian side, Corinthians, have also been linked with the 31-year-oldlocal reportsclaim the forward has already received "six firm offers" from teams in Europe.

Gary Lineker will "walk away" to host Match of the Day
Some news this afternoon.
Gary Lineker is stepping down from hosting Match of the Day, the BBC has confirmed.
A statement from the company said he will not return to host the show until an agreement is reached on social media usage.
The move comes after Lineker was heavily criticized for his comments on social media about the government's asylum seeker policy.
A BBC statement said: "The BBC have had extensive discussions with Gary and his team over the last few days. We have said that we consider his recent social media activity a violation of our policies.
"The BBC has decided that he will no longer present Match of the Day until we have a clear and agreed position on his use of social media.
“When it comes to leading our football and sports coverage, Gary is second to none. We never said that Gary should be in a no-opinion zone or that he can't have an opinion on issues that are important to him, but we did say that he should avoid taking sides in party matters or political controversies."

Is Trento the best?
Former Arsenal full-back and Premier League winner Lauren believes Trent Alexander-Arnold is the best right-back in the world.
He saidsports lenses: “There are so many good right-backs out there. I really like Reece James at Chelsea and I particularly like Dani Carvajal at Real Madrid.
“England are lucky to have some really good right-backs at the moment too. They have Kyle Walker in Man City, Kieran Trippier is very good too. Especially the way he overlaps off the ball, he's very sure of the ball, he's good at set pieces and he's scored some fantastic free-kicks. But for me it's Trent Alexander-Arnold. He provides Liverpool with a lot of tactics and is crucial in how they want to bring the ball back.
“Usually Jordan Henderson is the one who drops into the right-back position to get the ball. It would be Alexander-Arnold who would sit out and expand the team.
“Not only can he deliver all the crosses, but he can also come in and dominate the midfield with incisive passes to create an extra man down the middle.
"Technically, he's excellent, he can score goals and people can criticize his defence. You can't be perfect at everything! In my opinion he is the best right-back in the world and the one I would like to have in my team."

Didi Hamann meets Real Madrid x Liverpool
Real Madrid beat Liverpool 5-2 in the Champions League round of 16 second leg but Didi Hamann doesn't think all hope is lost.
"Liverpool are on the verge of defeat after being beaten 5-2 by Real Madrid," he wrote in a column for theHeaven Germany. "But I don't rule out anything in football. There are few racquets that, once in motion, can unleash such force that the opponent barely reacts. Those clubs include Bayern, Liverpool and Real Madrid - all of whom have rejected games in every round over the past year.
"If Liverpool score three or four goals again after beating Manchester United 7-0 at the weekend in Bournemouth, they'll fly to Madrid and say 'why not?'
"Such a brilliant victory can do wonders for self-confidence. I don't think Liverpool will go through, but it's very unlikely."

It's hard to see where Liverpool will make changes tomorrow after their 7-0 win at Man United, but one or two could be made.
Stefan Bajcetic could be called aside in place of Jordan Henderson as Jurgen Klopp tries to keep his captain fresh.

Praise from Cody Gakpo
Cody Gakpo's former PSV team-mate Yorbe Vertessen on Liverpool's signing: "[He was] the best player I've played with at PSV. The first goal he scored against Man United was typically Cody.
"Cut and go for the far corner. The second goal was also very well done. It was almost perfect. I'm happy for him that his move to Liverpool went so well."

LFC Player of the Month

Scholes disagrees
Paul Scholes disagrees with former team-mate Gary Neville's claims that Liverpool's 7-0 win over Man United was a "deviation", as he told BT Sport on Thursday night: "First thing you learn in these big games , is when you lose the ball, you run back and get back into shape. You saw five or six of our advanced players come back.
"I don't like using excuses, but they felt broken. On Sunday I thought it was a bit of a bizarre game as Liverpool scored seven goals from eight shots on goal.
"But when your team is pushing like that and your strikers are refusing to run back, that's not a deviation because Liverpool and those great teams have so many good players that they can punish you if they do that.
"So it's not a freak show, it could actually happen. You could say they were a bit unlucky to score seven goals, but if you look at the performance, that probably wasn't the case."
